Background
Peter Lakai is one of New Zealand's most exciting young loose forwards. A product of St Patrick's College Silverstream, he burst onto the Super Rugby scene with the Hurricanes in 2024 and earned his first New Zealand cap against Japan in October 2024, coming off the bench. He followed that up with his first Test start at No. 8 in the 2025 Bledisloe Cup. Powerful, athletic, and rugby-smart, Lakai is widely seen as a key figure in New Zealand's future.
